Entrepreneurship is a concept that has eluded me for decades; I have waffled between fascination with the concept of striking out on my own and the challenges and potential pitfalls of starting my own business. As of late, I have been researching entrepreneurship to better understand what it truly takes to be a successful entrepreneur. “Those who succeed are driven by passion and rootedness in their identity.” Daryl Hagler.
The key elements of successful entrepreneurs are somewhat innate — not everyone is born to run his or her own business. However, by delving into some of these skills, those who wish to build something of their own may learn how to hone these proficiencies.
Those who succeed are driven by passion and rootedness in their identity. These two qualities ensure that the individual is dedicated to his work in such a way that he will continuously push ideas to grow the business. Resiliency and self-confidence, emanating from a strong sense of self, foster a motivated personality, ready to tackle any obstacle that may arise. Entrepreneurs are also inherently risk-takers. However, they only take the risk once they have put in the proper research and planning; they are aware of necessary precautions and weigh the cost-benefit of their decisions and actions. This is what helps them achieve their goals.
